Which flame machine fits your event?
Start with your venue and the effect you want to create. Use the guide below to compare Flame Machine options, then confirm the required clearance, approved fuel and operating conditions for your production.
Venue & Event Type | Flame Machine Options | Flame Height & Effect | What to Check Before You Choose |
|---|---|---|---|
Indoor theatres and event venues | Fireball: 3–4 m (9.8–13.1 ft); flame column: 2–3 m (6.6–9.8 ft) | Overhead clearance, audience separation, approved fuel and effect mode | |
Outdoor concerts and live music stages | GY-E06 (3 head independently controlled nozzles) | Fireball: 2–3 m (6.6–9.8 ft); flame column: 3–4 m (9.8–13.1 ft) | Space around every firing direction, nozzle sequencing, wind conditions and permitted weather exposure |
Outdoor music festivals and stages requiring tall vertical flames | GY-F350W (vertical flame output) | 8–10 m (26.2–32.8 ft) | Available overhead space, manufacturer’s wind limits, IPX3 exposure limits and fuel consumption |
Large outdoor shows, theme parks and visitor attractions | GY-V5F (five-nozzle flame sequences) | 8–10 m (26.2–32.8 ft) in windless conditions | Clearance in every firing direction, programmed sequences and fuel demand across active nozzles |
Indoor use requires confirmation that the selected model permits the proposed installation, together with venue approval and any required authorization.
Flame heights shown above describe the effect output. Required safety clearances are separate specifications defined by the selected model’s operating manual and approved event plan.
Choose the Look That Matches Your Production
- Single-nozzle effects suit designs that call for individual flame bursts or vertical columns.
- Three-nozzle systems offer independently controlled outputs for alternating or simultaneous effects.
- Tall vertical flames provide a different visual scale for productions with sufficient approved clearance.
- Five-nozzle systems support more elaborate sequences, with additional space and fuel planning across firing directions.
Safety Features to Compare Before You Choose
All Igracelite® Flame Machine models have DMX safety channel or safety shutoff; pulse ignition / 99% + ignition rate. Review the protection systems fitted to the exact unit you intend to use, together with its operating manual and the requirements of your venue.
Tilt Protection
The GY-F350W lists a tilt-protection function that locks the nozzle when its specified tilt limit is reached. The 100W GRY-E01 lists automatic power-off when tilted beyond 45°.
Confirm the activation threshold, shutdown behavior and reset procedure for the selected model. These details should be included in the operator’s checks before the show.
Dual Ignition on the GY-F350W
The GY-F350W uses two ignition pins to support ignition consistency during programmed flame effects.
The ignition components still require inspection and maintenance according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Dual ignition should not be presented as a guarantee that misfires cannot occur.
Separate Test and Operating Modes
The GY-F350W includes a dedicated safety lock for switching between test mode and normal operation.
This separation helps crews manage equipment checks before enabling normal flame output. Operators should follow the model’s procedures for testing, arming and shutting down the system.
Heat-Resistant Nozzle and Ignition Components
The 100W GRY-E01 lists a stainless steel nozzle and a high-temperature ceramic ignition needle.
These materials support use around the heat generated by the effect. Regular inspection remains necessary to identify deposits, wear or damage; material choice alone does not guarantee freedom from blockage or deformation.
Fuel Monitoring on the GY-F1500
The GY-F1500 lists a fuel-level sensor and a no-fuel alarm. These features help operators monitor the available fuel before and during a production.
An alarm should be described according to its documented function. It should not be assumed to provide automatic shutdown unless that behavior is confirmed in the operating manual.
For trained professional operators only. Establish the required exclusion zones, supervision, fire-protection arrangements and venue approvals before use.
Flame Machine Fuel and Running Costs
Fuel compatibility is model-specific. Confirm the approved fuel before purchasing consumables or estimating the operating cost of a show.
Different fuel systems require different supplies, so a fuel listed for one Flame Machine should not automatically be used in another.
Use the Fuel Approved for Your Model
The GY-F350W and GY-V5F product specifications list isopropanol and specified isoparaffinic fluid grades G, H, L and M as fuel options.
Isopropanol, also called isopropyl alcohol, is different from an isoparaffinic fluid. Confirm the exact product and grade against the selected machine’s current operating manual, and obtain the relevant Safety Data Sheet before sourcing supplies.
Estimate fuel requirements using cumulative firing time and the number of active nozzles in the planned sequence. Allow separately for rehearsals and testing.
The total duration of an event is different from the time during which the machine is actually producing flames. Consumption figures should also be checked for the selected configuration and approved fuel.
Check Fuel Availability Before Ordering
For international projects, check whether the approved fuel is available at the destination before planning the show.
Confirm fuel supply separately from the equipment order. Shipment availability depends on the specific fuel, its Safety Data Sheet, the transport route and carrier requirements.
Local procurement may be necessary.
