Born in 1989 in Shaoyang City, Hunan Province, Doris grew up in a small, tight-knit village where life was simple but full of warmth. Though raised in a humble wooden house, she cherished the close community spirit—every evening, villagers gathered in the town square to share meals and stories under dim, flickering lights.
It was this childhood experience, combined with her innate fascination with vibrant colors, that sparked her passion for lighting. The dream of transforming dark spaces into dynamic, colorful stages stayed with her. In 2009, she co-founded Grace Stage Lighting with Leon, and by 2010, the company had officially become a dedicated stage lighting manufacturer.

Quality Control
I’ve been managing production for over 15 years – mostly moving heads, LED pars, strobes, and the occasional custom rig. And one thing I’ve learned is this: good stage lighting isn’t about luck. It’s about catching problems before they happen.
At Grace Stage Lighting, we don’t just slap a “QC passed” sticker on a box and call it a day. We run a full chain of checks. Let me walk you through it.
IQC – Incoming Quality Control
It all starts with components. You wouldn’t believe what some suppliers try to pass off as “commercial grade.” Every batch of PCBs, lenses, motors, fans, and cables goes through IQC the moment it enters our warehouse. If a driver IC has the wrong tolerance or a fan sounds even slightly off, that batch gets flagged before it ever reaches our assembly line.
IPQC – In-Process Quality Control
This is where most shortcuts happen. But not here. During assembly, our line leaders run IPQC at critical checkpoints – typically after soldering, after mounting the optical system, and again before the top cover goes on. We check alignment, thermal paste application, screw torque, and polarity. Boring details? Maybe. But boring keeps your rig from failing at 2 AM during a live show.
FQC – Final Quality Control
Once a unit is fully assembled, it goes to FQC. This is a full functional test: DMX response from every channel, color mixing accuracy, strobe consistency, pan/tilt movement, and thermal cutoff. We also check for weird noises. If a motor sounds “grindy” or a fan has a slight wobble, we pull it. No exceptions.
OQC – Outgoing Quality Control
OQC is the last gate before a product goes into a carton – and before it ships to you. This is a random sampling test from the finished batch. We double-check packaging, labeling, accessory completeness (clamps, cables, etc.), and re-test a few units as if we were the end user. OQC is what catches things like a loose bolt or a misprinted manual.
Other Checks We Run That Don’t Get Enough Attention
We also do LQC (Line Quality Control) – a quick visual check after each major assembly step – and regular QA (Quality Assurance) audits where we tear down a finished unit from stock to inspect solder joints, cable routing, and grounding. Ugly work, but necessary.
What This Means For You
When a Grace fixture arrives at your door, it hasn’t just been “tested.” It’s been through IQC, IPQC, FQC, OQC, plus random QA teardowns. That’s the only way I know to ship gear that can actually handle a real production environment.
I don’t promise “perfect” – nobody in manufacturing can. But I promise we catch more issues at our bench than you’ll ever see on yours.
